CINCINNATI - What would you do if you could do anything?

This was a question that was posed to me by my friend, LeeAnn Miller at lunch today. In fact, the question was posed to her recently and it really got her thinking.

So, I thought about it on my drive back to work. What would I do if I could do anything? No. 1 on my list would be the ability and means to be a stay-at-home mom. My kids would most likely protest.

But really, it’s such an appealing question. In the past I wouldn’t have hesitated to answer, with “I would be a singer”. I mean, factoring in that I would also have TALENT, I would sing. Sing loud and proud, and get paid for it.

While that’s still appealing, I’m not sure it’s what I’d do. Be a high-powered interior decorator? That sounds fun and I like decorating (I just don’t know what I’m doing really). Be a master gardener? Also appealing. Love the garden, but again, I’m no pro. Become a chef? Yes, this is a good one. I love to cook (really I love to bake, but cooking is a close second).

This is a conundrum. There are so many things that I find appealing. I love to knit, sew, create. I love to paint, especially if I get to paint, say, a piece of furniture. I’d love to learn to upholster furniture. Maybe I could become a spinning instructor (then I would always be fit and that is a great side benefit).

Truth is, I’m a master of nothing, but my interests are quite varied. I love home. I love all things home, including and most importantly, my family. I love to exercise (at least I love it lately). And I love to create things.

What inspires you? What do you want to be when you grow up? What would you do if you could do anything?
