-I spent my Presidents Day working on a first grade Presidents project with my first-grader. We learned a lot about FDR. And procrastination. It’s due today.
Little girls aren’t usually happy unless a project contains some amount of glitter. But she told me this one didn’t need glitter, because it was too “President-ish.” Remember that in case you’re in the same situation again.
-I’ve decided sequestration and structure are going on my “Most Hated Words” list. And they’ll crack the Top 25.
-We’re almost there, people. Almost though the winter. Valentine’s Day puts us on the descent into spring, and I, for one, can’t wait. March is a happy time: the NCAA tournament and St. Patrick’s Day and fish frys. With the promise of that just weeks away, we can make it. Or at least that’s what I’m telling myself.
I’m also positive that I will one day be a Snowbird. It’s happening. I just need to be older, have a lot more money and a place to live in Florida. That is all.
-ON GMA this morning, Victoria’s Secret model Cameron Russell (a Columbia grad) is saying that the fashion industry has an unhealthy obsession with beauty. The cynical 75 percent of me wants to say: Umm, yes. Also, Christmas will fall on December 25th and HGTV shows House Hunters 22 hours a day. But the rest of me is impressed: check out this TED Talk that Russell gave. Essentially, she’s saying looks aren’t everything – and I know, because I’m a model. Maybe it’s being a mom of two girls – I don’t know. But I’m way more impressed than I thought I’d be.
-It’s National Chocolate Mint day, so Skyline is giving away a York peppermint patty for every dine-in order. Your co-workers will thank you.
Have a great Tuesday.
From Today’s Show:
-Tales from Reds Camp: John Popovich is filing reports from spring training throughout the week, and making us all incredibly jealous. It’s interesting to hear from Joey Votto about his knee, and I can’t wait to see Billy Hamilton play. The Reds have a longer-than-normal Cactus League schedule this year, so here’s hoping everyone’s healthy when they get to Cincinnati on April 1. No April Fooling.
-Try-It-Out Tuesday: Today we put the Sticky Pad to the test. It claims to hold your phone securely in place while you drive. See if it works here .
