Happy Halloween!

Oh, how I love Halloween.

I’m made that quite clear .

This morning confirmed my theory, though. So far, we’ve had Halloween Funfetti cake and lots of sweet treats as we muddled through Good Morning Tri-State.

I realize, though, that I’m quite fond of posting pictures of food on Twitter. So, if that sort of thing interests you, follow me @NeroWCPO .

But because I’ve had about three months worth of sugar in about an hour, I’m a bit all over the map, so bear with me.

How many of you leave an unattended bucket of candy when you go trick-or-treating with your kids?  And how many of you return to find it completely empty, with its contents likely dumped in the bottom of the bag of the first kid to get to your house that night?

That’s what we’ve done for eight years. But this year, we’re going rogue. We’re packing up the Reese’s Cups and Kit Kats (yeah, that’s the way we roll) and we’re walking around the neighborhood like a sort of mobile trick-or-treat vendor. We’ll see how it works.

My kids are wearing their Halloween costumes to school today. Am I the only parent who’s worried that they’re not going to come home with all the bits and pieces of their costume? And that we will be forced to embark on trick-or-treating without, say, phoenix wings or Olympic medals ? I’m hoping for the best.

If you’re headed out tonight to troll for Twixes, clamor for KitKats or beg for Butterfingers, check out your local trick-or-treat times here .

Once you’re done trick-or-treating, it’s back to the house to organize your candy and trade with your sister. Maybe that was just me. While you’re separating the good from the bad from the ugly (Mary Janes, Dots and circus peanuts, I’m talking about you), watch It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. It’s on Channel 9 at 8 p.m. tonight.

From Today’s Show:

-Real or Fake: So many pictures have been tweeted and Facebooked and such from Sandy, but some are just too good to be true. The shark in the New Jersey backyard? Fake. And this one (which is amazing, admittedly), isn’t fake, but it’s also not from Sandy. Another pothole in the road of social media.

-GMTS Halloween JibJab: Don’t you love a good JibJab ? These never get old. Plus, the skeleton bones take away the ten pounds the camera adds.
