Still recovering from falling back, Monday Morning Musings may be an hour late, but just as awesome.
-I’m not proud, but I forgot to pack a lunch today and I had a choice: Not eat and be even more unbearable to poor co-workers, or hit the vending machine. I (with prompts from my boss, mind you), chose the latter. And boy, am I glad I did. That’s when I found these: Ruffles Max Loaded Bacon and Cheddar Potato Skins Flavored chips. Are you kidding me? Unless they also added $20s to the bag, I’m not sure it would get better. Oh, and MAX is written in a kind of a modified 80s “Rad” font. That somehow makes it better.
-My younger daughter lost her front tooth last night. How wrong is it that I’m hoping she loses the other one soon so we can have an “all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth” Christmas card?
-Once November rolls around, it’s ON. I’m well into holiday shopping mode. I’ve already finished shopping for some people on my list, and am well on my way for others. I’d put up Christmas decorations right now if my husband weren’t adamantly opposed to it. Thanksgiving is his favorite holiday, so he doesn’t want to skip over it.
-I love football. But right now, it’s hard to be a football fan. UK is horrid, and now looking for a head coach. The Bengals are almost as bad, and the second half of their schedule looks difficult, to be kind. At least there’s UC, which came back strong against Syracuse this weekend.
From Today’s Show:
-Day of Giving: All day, ABC is hosting a Day of Giving, where viewers can help victims of Sandy by calling 1-800-HELP-NOW to donate money to the Red Cross. That’s a heck of a way to start your week. Karma, people.
That said, I’m checking out the line of “celebrities” answering phones. It’s … umm … random. Snooki, Andre Braugher, Andrew Shue, Daisy Fuentes, two people I recognize from some ABC show but couldn’t name to save my life, Tony Danza, Anthony Edwards. I can just hear the conversations.
Daisy: “Yes, this is Daisy Fuentes. No, Daisy Fuentes. I was on MTV about 20 years ago? I have a line of clothes at Kohl’s? No, no - you’ve got us confused. That’s Jennifer Lopez. Yes, she’s got a line of clothes there too. And she’s Latina. Nevermind. Would you like to donate?”
And Snooki just said something about donating clothes you don’t need anymore (which is admirable). But as Kendall Herold just said, can you imagine getting Snooki’s hand-me-downs?
Seriously, though – every little bit helps. You can call all day long.
Today’s Distracting Link:
I’m sure you’ll all be headed to the polls tomorrow (if you haven’t voted already) but in the meantime, vote for your candidate here. Who’d you rather dance with – Obama or Romney?
