Monday Morning Musing time. Let’s go.

-Two years ago, Reds fans were dejected and expecting the worst. The Reds returned to Cincinnati down two games in the NLDS to Philadelphia. This time around? Exactly the opposite. This weekend, they gave us two exciting games, two big wins, and serious momentum heading into Tuesday’s night Game 3. Bring the brooms, people!

-And that brings me to this: we’re taking Good Morning Tri-State on the road tomorrow morning. We’re doing the whole show live at Great American Ball Park, and we’ve finagled some special guests to get up early with us. Denny Janson will there – and there’s no one who knows Cincinnati sports better than he and John Popovich.

We even have a Reds-themed Try-It-Out Tuesday. It’s a new way to watch the game that puts you in control of the cameras, and lets you watch anywhere you want.

And even if you don’t have a ticket, we’ll give you some places to watch, how to get around the traffic, and when the Reds victory parade will be. Wait, I’m getting ahead of myself. First things first. A win tomorrow, then we’ll talk parade.

-For the first time in nine years, I went to a Bengals game as a fan. I’m pretty sure I’m just plain bad luck. I covered the team for 9 Sports for five years, traveling with the team for a couple of games a year, and never once saw a road win. And Sunday? Wow. Missed opportunities, turnovers and lackluster drives equal an unfortunate loss. They’re going to want this one back when they get to the second half of the schedule.

-You know where I spent my Friday night? Shopping for Halloween costumes. Loved it. But we also made a trip to Claire’s in the Florence Mall to spend some gift cards the girls got for their birthdays.

I can only come up with one time in the past year or so that I’ve been on the inside of an actual mall. I usually shop at “lifestyle centers” like Crestview Hills Town Center and Rookwood Commons. So when we pulled up to the Florence Mall and got out of the car, my younger daughter looked around, and saw only Macy’s Home Store and Sears. “This isn’t Claire’s!” she said. It was then it dawned on me: I don’t think she ever remembers being inside a mall. I am clearly not doing my part as a parent.

Enjoy your Monday and count down the hours until the first pitch tomorrow night!
