It’s time for Monday Morning Musings. Let’s go.

-Homer Bailey may have had a no-hitter, but I’m pretty sure I had the perfect spot to see it. Most of us couldn’t be in Pittsburgh, so we had to settle for the next best thing. And in my case, it was being at a bar across the street from Great American Ball Park with a whole bunch of other Reds fans.

I was there finishing up my shift behind the bar at the Holy Grail Tavern for “Clink a Drink for Pink” – a fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. It was about the 8th inning when my husband looked up at the muted TVs and noticed that Bailey was pitching a no-hitter.

Soon every TV in the place was on, sound full, and everybody in the bar was glued to those flat screens. And we thought the Reds season couldn’t get any better.

-If I may offer up a couple of other sports notes: what a great win for UC this weekend vs. Virginia Tech. And despite the fact that I (and all other Wildcat fans) thought South Carolina would beat up on UK like NFL fans on replacement refs, the Cats held their own. They lost, but it wasn’t horrific.

-I’ve professed my love for my DVR, but today’s a rough one. I’m trying really hard not to find out what happened on revenge last night. One of the people I follow on Twitter was live blogging the show from the West Coast, so as I was checking Twitter this morning, I just had to make sure I didn’t read anything she wrote.

I feel like this will get easier as we get further into the season. At least, that’s my hope.

-I’m watching the Wallflowers now on GMA. Green Day has a new album out, and so does No Doubt. What is they say about “old” musicians? They don’t die, they just decrescendo? Maybe symphony musicians. Let’s see. Pop musicians don’t die, they just go from bar to bar. (Thanks Google.)

From Today’s Show:

-Vote Drew!: Cincinnati’s Drew Lachey is working hard on the jive for his performance tonight on Dancing with the Stars. He’s a former champ, and is holding his own this year. Problem is, he was in the bottom two last week. So he contacted us and says he needs some “Cincy love.” So watch DWTS tonight, and vote either online or by phone. (You can actually vote well into tomorrow, too).

-Baker’s Back:Dusty Baker is back in the dugout tonight after 11 games to recover from an irregular heartbeat and a minor stroke. His Reds have three more games left to try to take the No. 1 seed from the Nationals. They’re tied now, and the Reds will have to beat Washington by a game, since the Nats win the tiebreaker.
