It's Lance,
Unless you are waking from a coma this morning, you no doubt by now know about the Chick-fil-A controversy . What has been lost in this story is the apparent double standard in our society that it has exposed.
Regardless on where you come down on the gay rights issue, right, left or center, that issue is really not the point of all this. Freedom of speech is.
You don't have to like what the company's CEO had to say. But if you like free speech, you should at least support his ability to say it.
I find it extremely hypocritical for those who wish to burn flags, occupy city parks and protest the banning of books to now say that Dan Cathy and his PRIVATE company can't also have the right to free speech.
Moral of the story: It would appear that some feel that freedom of speech only applies to speech that they support.
