CINCINNATI - We all want to get the most of that delicious food we've been waiting all year to cook and eat, but we also don't want to pig out and feel sluggish the rest of the holiday weekend.
Here are 10 tips to avoid pigging out this Thanksgiving:
10) Do not skip a meal prior to the big meal!
9) Eat a handful of carrots or celery on your way there or while you are cooking
8) Do not hang out in the room where the appetizers and snacks are- you will eat them!
7) If you are drinking alcohol try to wait until dinner, too much before hand and all of your good sense will fly out the window!
6) Drink 8 ounces of water in the 1/2 hour before eating dinner
5) Exercise at some point during the day before your celebration begins
4) Choose Either - Or -- stuffing or a roll, turkey or ham (if there is more than one protein source) pumpkin or pecan pie
3) Eat as many greens as your can! They are usually lower in calorie and high in fiber
2) Keep all of the side items on the counter, not the table so you are required to get up for 2nd helpings
1) DO NOT WEAR DRAWSTRING PANTS-- wear a belt and fitted clothing so there isn't room to grow!
