CINCINNATI - Lay's potato chips will kick off a social media campaign Friday asking people to submit their ideas for a potato chip flavor.
The "Next Big Thing" campaign is set to hit the company's Facebook page, and the prize is $1 million.
Lay's will pick three finalists, and the winner will then be selected by a Facebook vote.
The social network is also doing something it has never done before: It will replace the “Like” button with an “I’d Eat That” button on the Lay’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/lays .
USA Today reports that Lay’s did a similar “Invent a Flavor” campaign in other countries. Some winning flavors were Caesar Salad, Sausage, and Shrimp.
