Sydney is a Cattle Dog/Pointer mix. A sweet and gentle personality, she is overlooked for adoptions due to her age of 7 years old. Older dogs make great pets due to their many advantages over the youthful.

CINCINNATI - Sydney is a beautiful black and white Cattle Dog/Pointer/Retriever mix. She is gentle and loving, but many will overlook adopting her because of her age.
She is a senior dog and estimated to be between 7 to 9 years old. Sydney was found wandering and never claimed.
She is spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on her vaccinations and a perfect loving dog for any home.
There are many advantages to selecting an older dog when you are considering adopting a pet. Unlike younger dogs, they are not crazy with energy and enjoy a nice walk. They won't destroy your house or yard.
Older dogs are already trained and settled. A big plus if you don't want to have to deal with housebreaking a puppy and teaching appropriate behavior. All of which can be a lot of work and expense when you add in the cost of dog training classes.
Not to mention that they bond quickly. Katy Campolongo from Fourgotten Paws Animal Rescue says, "they really appreciate love and somehow they "get" the fact that you saved them".
For those homes considering adding another pet, Campolongo says, "Older dogs can bond quickly...puppies can overwhelm existing pets".
Come meet Sydney on Saturday, November 5 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Monfort Heights Petco. For more information call the Pet Pals Adoption Line at (513) 885-DOGS.
