CINCINNATI - If you spend thirty seconds on Pinterest, you can tell that do it yourself projects are huge this holiday season.  It’s a good way to save money and add a person touch to your decorations this year.

Megan Fenno of cincysavers.com has tips and suggestions for DIY projects.

  • You can start by checking out what you already have and repurposing. Old ornaments can be painted different colors. Reuse a wreath but change the ribbon our, add ribbon and new decorations to it.
  • Head out doors.  Grab come pine cones. They can be great garland and if you want a little sparkle you can have your kids dip the pine cones in glue followed by glitter.
  • Instead of buying decorations, make your own.  You can make a wreath for under $12.(For instructions on how to check out Megan’s latest blog on cincysavers.com ).
