362 choirs from 64 countries will draw the eyes and ears of the world to the Queen City.

The advance team consists of 60 people from Interkultur, the organization behind the Games.

"Interkultur has an experience of more than 20 years organizing or running international events." said
Interkultur General Secretary Stefan Piendl.

This is the first time the games have been held in North America, which prompted us to ask the question, why come here?

Piendl says the area's strong music traditions like the Cincinnati Symphony and the Pops provide not only a ready local audience, but several appropriate venues.

He also says Cincinnati feels like home for the German based organization.

"You feel it somehow," Piendl said. "We felt from the beginning that it's the right atmosphere, the right city."
