COVINGTON, Ky. - "I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony."
Those were the lyrics of the opening song at Saturday's World Choir Games Friendship Concert in Devou Park. And that's what Kentucky Symphony Orchestra Conductor J.R. Cassidy was hoping to do at the outdoor show.
The Kentucky Symphony Orchestra was joined by choirs from Norway and Ukraine as they performed in front of hundreds at the outdoor amphitheater.
The concert was appropriately named "In Perfect Harmony."
Cassidy said he was excited to be part of the World Choir Games. He added that the event, while centered around music, is also a celebration of unity between different cultures.
The groups performed new and old songs for two hours.
