CINCINNATI - Thousands of people lined 5th Street downtown as singers from the World Choir Games made their way from the Duke Energy Center to Fountain Square for the Parade of Nations.
"It's amazing, I can't believe that it's here and we've got such a great crowd out here, and it's been a lot of fun," said Melanie Beccaccio, who brought her kids to the parade.
Choirs from 64 countries are taking part in the games. Two thousand of the singers are from China alone.
But not all of the choirs came from around the globe.
Several local choirs are also taking part in the festivities.
"This is awesome, this is my first year in show choir, so this is like really huge, it's crazy it's awesome, it's cool to see everybody from all the different countries," said Alex Hotchkiss from the Fairfield High School Choir.
Singer Bootsy Collins and Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory were the grand marshals of the Parade of Nations, and 9 News chief meteorologist Steve Raleigh served as emcee.
