Company to launch new mobile translation tool for World Choir Games

CINCINNATI - City and tourism leaders are launching a new translation tool to better serve international visitors during the World Choir Games that will begin 100 days from Monday.
The city is hosting hundreds of thousands of international visitors in July. To improve hospitality efforts, a new Cincinnati-based company called Globili is testing its text and mobile application for cellphones and smartphones that will translate multilingual signs, menus and ads into approximately 50 languages.
City leaders and members of the Convention & Visitors Bureau, the 2012 World Choir Games Inc. and Downtown Cincinnati, Inc. will take part in Monday's launch that begins at noon.
The goal is to get as many people as possible to test the translations in various languages to ensure their accuracy and make sure the new technology is easy to use for visitors.
