CINCINNATI - If you watch Channel 9 via an antenna or DTV converter box, you'll need to rescan your TV Wednesday to keep watching 9 News and your favorite ABC shows.

WCPO-TV is moving to a higher-powered signal tower on Wednesday, Dec. 8 and you'll need to rescan the channels on your TV in order to keep watching Channel 9. If you don’t rescan on Dec. 8, you will lose Channel 9. Even if you received Channel 9’s signal fine before Dec. 8, you will still need to rescan in order to receive Channel 9’s new signal.

If you watch Channel 9 via cable or satellite, you don't need to do anything to receive WCPO's new signal.

Since last year’s digital transition, some people in hilly or outlying areas of the Cincinnati television viewing area have not been able to receive Channel 9. The station’s new, high power UHF transmission system, which is 300 times more powerful than the old one, is designed specifically to address those problems.

Channel 9 is committed to making sure that every viewer in the Cincinnati market can receive the station signal. We will work with individual viewers over the phone to help them work through reception problems. However, Channel 9 cannot guarantee that every TV in the area will be able to receive the new signal.
