When people think of the Oscars they think of things like fabulous dresses, movie stars, amazing films and board games.
Yes, board games. The people behind the blog “ How About Orange ” created an Oscars-themed bingo game to make watching the 85th Academy Awards on WCPO Sunday evening an even more memorable experience for you and the guests at your viewing party. The game allows guests to mark their predictions on a ballot and makes them an active part of the Oscars experience.
The winner of the game is the first person to mark off five squares in a line. The line can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal, and like the traditional game, the center square is a freebie.
The people behind the website suggest adding to the Oscar party theme by giving the winners prize bags similar to what people at the actual Academy Awards. Things like movie theater gift cards, boxes of microwavable popcorn and little Oscar statuettes from a party store make good prizes.
There are 20 different downloadable game cards (bottom of the page). After you save the PDF to your computer, open it in Adobe Reader, and print the number of pages you need at 100 percent size. Then select the best sheet for yourself, of course.
The Oscars action begins on Sunday at 7 p.m. on WCPO with the official red carpet show. The ceremony itself begins at 8:30 p.m. and should run until at least 11:45 p.m.
Have fun and happy picking.
