CINCINNATI - Since the dog days of summer are upon us earlier than usual this year, you may be looking for ways to unleash the summer heat.
This Saturday the Great Ohio River Swim, which is Cincinnati's biggest and only open water swim competition on the Ohio River, returns for the fifth year.
Contestants will swim from the Serpentine Wall to Kentucky and then back to the Public Landing, which is an approximate distance of 900 meters.
Registration is open through the morning of the race.
The competition begins around 7:30 a.m. and a pre-race mandatory meeting will take place at 7 a.m.
Free parking is also available for contestants.
The event takes place the day before the Cincinnati Triathlon.
