Buy a child, feed a duck — er, switch those around. That's the theme of the18th Annual Rubber Duck Regatta, which raises more than $550,000 each year for the Freestore Foodbank when as many as 150,000 plastic duckies are dumped from the top of the Purple People Bridge into the Ohio during the P&G Riverfest for a cutthroat race to the finish.
The owner of the winning duck will score a 2012 Honda Civic and a shot at $1 million. $25 gets you six ducks and can feed a Cincinnati family of four for an entire week. 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2. Purple People Bridge. Purchase ducks online at fsfbmedia.org .
