Anyone who’s ever been simultaneously single and had a pet knows that animals tend me much more reliable — and far more willing to hang out under covers with bedhead in favor of an expensive excursion — than most romantic human counterparts. Each February just before V-Day, there’s a “super adoption” weekend, where you can conveniently meet hundreds of furry cats, dogs and rabbits waiting to be someone’s a cuddle-buddy.
Think of it as a giant speed-dating event, except, well, way better. Go to myfurryvalentine.com to start checking out dating profiles; you might fall in love before you even go. As if the animals weren’t entertainment enough, there will also be family-friendly activities like face painting, balloon artists, caricatures, live entertainment and food and drink. All adopted animals go home with a free goody bag full of pet supplies, treats, toys and a free flexi retractable leash. 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9; 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10. flexi USA, Inc. Distribution Center, 8494 Firebird Drive, West Chester. myfurryvalentine.com .
