CINCINNATI - Even though it's a few days before the real Mardi Gras festivities kick off, you can still celebrate Cajun style in the Tri-State this weekend.

Below is a list of celebrations taking place.


Mardi Gras in MainStrasse: Get ready to party New Orleans style in the MainStrasse Village. A Big Head Parade kicks off the celebration Friday on Main Street and festivities last throughout Saturday. Enjoy authentic Cajun food, music by the Naked Karate Girls and 4th Day Echo and entertainment at local bars.

Voodoo Carnival Mardi Gras Masquerade: This Saturday partake in the Voodoo Carnival Mardi Gras Masquerade at the Southgate House Revival. Headlining acts include Dr. Bombay and the Atomic Bachelor Pad, along with the Pickled Brothers Circus. Tickets are $10 in advance or$15 day of show. Festivities begin at 8 p.m.

Mardi Gras at Findlay Market: Findlay Market is celebrating Mardi Gras in style with free family events this Sunday. Enjoy samplings of traditional lowland seafood boil and live entertainment throughout the day. The OTR Biergarten will be open and selling Christian Moerlein beer and host wine tastings. The Mardi Gras King and Queen will be crowned during a parade.

Mardi Gras for Homeless Children: Celebrate Mardi Gras while helping out a good cause this year! This year marks the 22nd annual Mardi Gras for Homeless Children which is a culinary event that raises money for homeless children shelters in the Tri-State. There will be plenty of food, like New Orleans music, and a silent auction.

Tickets are $55 can be purchased at Benefiting Shelters, Embassy Suites River Center, Hilton Cincinnati Airport, Hofbrauhaus, Mariott at RiverCenter.
