It seems that in the last few years the media has taken a special interest in prohibition. From the HBO series Boardwalk Empire to Ken Burns' documentary on PBS that aired in September, I, along with the many other avid watchers, have learned more about this memorable period in history than I or they did throughout the years of history classes in high school.

This year celebrates the 78th anniversary of the repeal of prohibition, and what could be a more fitting place to observe this milestone than at a bar? This Friday starting at 8 p.m., Mixologist Molly Wellmann and the Japp's staff will bring you back to December 1933, when the 21st Amendment was ratified, legalizing the vending, possession and production of liquor, as they present a selection of drinks from this era. Your taste buds quenched, Cin City Burlesque will assuage your eyes and the smooth big band melodies of Ben Stone and the Wigged Out will indulge your ears.
