Meet Dan Korman. You might have seen him at his general store on Vine Street in Over-the-Rhine, at the Northside Farmer’s Market or on his weekly Friday hikes. Dan’s store, Park Vine (1109 Vine St., Downtown; 513-721-7275), focuses on green living: Vegan food staples, green cleaning products and environmentally mindful apparel and furniture. Dan is serious about bringing conscientious products to Cincinnatians, but is “cheesy” in his own way.

CityBeat: What’s the last great meal you ate, and where did you eat it?
Dan Korman: I love soy cheese quesadillas; I eat three a day. (He laughs as if he cannot believe it himself.) I use Daiya Vegan Soy cheese. It melts perfectly and has a great taste. This morning I had vegan waffles with coconut nectar. I am a big fan of coconut. Recently, I had the Quinoa Bowl at Green Dog Café.

CB: I hear your store is moving. Are you planning to serve food at the new location?
DK: Our new location will be at the old Kaldi’s location (on Main Street in Over-the-Rhine) and will open the week of the MidPoint Music Festival. The kitchen was torn out to make room for an elevator shaft for a new development so we will not have a kitchen, but we will have grab-and-go offerings from Melt and Picnic and Pantry and fresh drinks at the bar area. The other half of the space will be dedicated to our grocery and other goods.
