“It’s more interesting when comics talk about their lives, I think,” says comedian Nate Craig. “I love hearing stories, so I try to tell them.” While the Wisconsin native, now based in L.A., has performed several times at Go Bananas, this will be his first time headlining. “The crowds are always great there. They’re true comedy fans.” Craig started doing stand-up while still in college in his home state before moving to Chicago.
“I stayed in the womb too long,” he says, “but I moved down there and then eventually to Los Angeles.” His career is certainly moving in the right direction, but he’s still living life on a budget, as they say. “I’m fine with the recession,” he says, “because I realize that being broke is recession-proof. I don’t have to worry about the stock market. Early last year the Dow Jones lost 1,000 points in one day. I don’t care. I ate pudding. You can’t touch my money, it’s not there.” $8-$14. Through Sunday. Go Bananas, Montgomery. 513-984-9288, gobananascomedy.com .
