It’s the return of our adopted native son as Greg Warren comes back to town for a set of shows at The Funny Bone on the Levee. The St. Louis native started his comedy career here while working for P&G and left the company shortly after being transferred to Houston. He’s been doing a stand-up ever since. Fans of Internet comedy may know his Wes Wesley character, which is based on Warren’s real-life experience as a wrestler in college.

Those can be seen on YouTube as well as Flowrestling.com . The latter he describes as “ESPN for wrestling fans.” Those videos have been a lot of fun. Every city I go to I get some wrestling fans that come out to the shows; it’s really cool.” In addition to wrestling and sports, Warren continues to make jokes about his family, friends and the foibles of growing older. His travels around the country inspired a popular bit called “One-Star People.” He and fellow comic Henry Phillips produced a song and video based on the bit. “I noticed when I was staying in these three and four-star hotels,” he explains, “they were filled with one-star people.”

INFO: $15-$17. Through Sunday, Dec. 2. Funny Bone on the Levee, Newport. 859-957-2000, funnyboneonthelevee.com .
