CINCINNATI - There's good news for Over-the-Rhine residents and those who venture to the blossoming neighborhood on weekends: You can grab a free donut next time you're out and about.
Busken Bakery is offering free donuts for each customer who visits the new pop-up shop, which is located in the heart of Over-the-Rhine between A Tavola and Sloane Boutique on Vine Street.
The new spot is part of an effort to promote Busken's newest product, the "Lite-Hearted Donut," which claims to have only 140 calories per pastry, zero-trans fat and zero saturated fats. So far, more than 100,000 new donuts, which are only four Weight Watchers points, have either been sold or given away by company.
The pop-up shop, however, is not like your grandmother's bakery.
It's set up as an art gallery, so patrons can experience the new, hipper side of Busken, while enjoying a tasty treat. There's also a video booth where people can make a 10-second dance video that will be entered in a contest held on Facebook.
Busken is working to revamp its image as an early morning indulgence to late-night destination that you don't have to feel terribly guilty about.
The shop is open Thursday through Saturday, from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., through March 16.
So whether you're checking out Final Friday or grabbing a snack before or after dinner, stop by for a sample before they're gone.
