LOS ANGELES - On the hit ABC sitcom, "Modern Family", Sarah Hyland's character Haley is a typical teen. She points out her parents' flaws, despises studying and would rather be with her friends.
Sarah's real life is anything but normal, and not entirely because of her fame.
Hyland had been struggling with kidney disease since childhood, when she was diagnosed with abnormal kidney development at the age of 9.
Recently Hyland was given a break, when her father donated his kidney to help her.
Click on the link to read about how her father gave his kidney to Hyland and how she says she was able to hide her illness from the public.
