Actor NEIL PATRICK HARRIS has spoken out to deny a tabloid report suggesting he has called off his engagement following a lovers' spat.

Editors at America's National Enquirer magazine alleged the How I Met Your Mother star had cancelled his plans to wed David Burtka, and was no longer on speaking terms with his longtime fiance after an explosive argument.

Harris has now taken to Twitter.com to set the record straight, insisting he and his TV correspondent partner are still happily together.

He writes, "The Nat Enq (sic) is cray cray (crazy). We've never had a wedding date, just engaged... We're on a cruise as I write. He's rad (good). All good."

Harris and Burtka became parents when they welcomed twins Harper and Gideon via surrogate in October 2010, and they announced their engagement the following year (11).

However, the star later revealed they had been engaged for some time, tweeting, "David and I did propose to each other, but over five years ago! We've been wearing engagement rings for ages, waiting for an available date."
