CINCINNATI - A coalition of over 25 organizations announced today that they are forming a non-for-profit partnership – called Go Vibrant Cincinnati – to design and execute innovative healthy initiatives in Cincinnati.

“Go Vibrant Cincinnati is a breakthrough concept that combines the resources and energy of leading private sector and civic organizations,” said John Pepper, former CEO of Procter & Gamble and current Chairman of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. “This partnership is built on harnessing the power of all of our organizations around a vision to make Cincinnati one of the top 10 healthiest cities in ten years.”

“The beauty of Go Vibrant is that it is not about pushing any particular product or service – it’s about encouraging and enabling residents and employees to live a vibrant, active lifestyle,” said Robert Reifsnyder, President and CEO of United Way of Greater Cincinnati. “The mission of making healthy living easier is one that all of us can get behind”, added Don Hoffman CEO of the Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati.

Go Vibrant Cincinnati’s Opening Ceremony and Health Check will be on Monday, June 21st from 11am-2pm on Fountain Square in Downtown Cincinnati. It will be a celebration of healthy living, organizations and events that Cincinnati has to offer. The Go Vibrant kickoff will have everything from live entertainment and health information to giveaways and free health checks. A special celebrity guest will help unveil a gift to the city from Go Vibrant. Hint: It will be healthy!

Go Vibrant Cincinnati will have year-round programs including a ’10 better in 10’ wellness challenge this summer, a partnership with Artworks to promote artistic bike racks in the city, a healthy menu program with restaurants, and partner to promote the city’s plans for bike paths. Go Vibrant will also have teams of professional Vibrant Volunteers – a Fitness Team, Healthy Eating Team and Health Team – to promote healthy living in an energetic, fun way at events.

“Go Vibrant is designed to truly make healthy living easier and a vital part of all our lives”, said Mark Jeffreys P&G Brand Manager, Founder, and leader (Chief Vibrant Officer) of Go Vibrant. “This is a multi-year partnership with a strong foundation of companies and tremendous marketing support and energy to continue Cincinnati’s mission of being one of the most viable cities to live, work and play.”
