Release from Xavier:

Jeff Robinson, a 6-9 and 210-pound forward from Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence North High School, has signed scholarship papers and begun summer school classes at Xavier University.

“I am excited to welcome Jeff Robinson into the Xavier Basketball family beginning this season,” said Xavier head coach Chris Mack. “Jeff is a talented, versatile big forward who comes in with a lot of upside. Jeff is long, athletic, runs the floor extremely well and is equally comfortable in the post or on the perimeter. Jeff is yet another high major player in a long line of recruits produced from Indianapolis based Lawrence North HS under legendary coach Jack Keefer. With the departure of Derrick Brown to the NBA we look forward to Jeff adding quality depth to a talented and experienced frontcourt.”

Lawrence North head coach Jack Keefer said Robinson has great potential. “Jeff is a very talented player,” said Keefer. “He has tremendous jumping ability and quickness. There’s no question that his best basketball is in front of him. As he matures and develops, I expect him to become quite a college player.”

ESPN.com recruiting analysis on Robinson stated that he “is a long, athletic big man who can run with the best of them. He has a ton of potential. When you see him in skill sessions, you can see an impact player.”

Robinson played last season at Lawrence North, helping his team to a 25-3 record and a final ranking of No. 3 in Class 4A for the state of Indiana.
