A cool clear fall night provides a perfect setting for high school playoff football in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
In Ohio, Division II, III and V teams are in the first round of action. Closely watched in our area is Wilmington at unbeaten Turpin in Division II. The two teams played last week with Turpin winning by a dozen points.
Also very talented is Troy Everhart's Winton Woods team which hosts Ross. Jeremiah Goins became the Warriors all time rushing leader last week.
Division III features unbeaten Wyoming which starts at home against Eaton. Goshen hasn't received a lot of publicity, but has won eight games this year. They play Springfield Shawnee.
Kentucky has a slew of first round games, highlighted by undefeated and nationally ranked Highlands hosting Montgomery County. It's hard to believe anybody comes close to the Bluebirds in the early stages.
Simon Kenton, 9-1, and 7-3 Ryle have home games tonight. The Pioneers play Butler while the Raiders host Pleasure Ridge.
Indiana moves to the sectional finals tonight with two teams from Southeastern Indiana still in contention.
East Central, 9-2, is in St. Leon to play Shelbyville, which ousted South Dearborn last week. Batesville remains undefeated. The Bulldogs play tonight at Hamilton Heights.
As always, 9News and WCPO.com will have all of the area scores as they come in from across the region.
