Before the 2009 Civil Rights Game even started at Great American Ball Park, fans got more than they bargained for.
Grammy-winning artist BeBe Winans, legendary fighter Muhammad Ali, Hall-of-Fame baseball player Hank Aaron, world renowned comedian Bill Cosby and more.
"I was like ten feet away from these guys. And I was just down there you know, trying to get close to them. We bought $5 tickets way way up there. Dusty Baker flipped me his wrist band. It's just an amazing experience," said Reds fan Mason Estep.
"I personally have marched with Dr. Martin Luther King in Louisville Kentucky. We're both from Louisville Kentucky. And it's good to see my home boy that I grew up with, that is Muhammad Ali," said Reds fan Virgil L. White Jr.
From in-depth discussions to kids having fun, the Civil Rights Game is all about showcasing baseball's striving effort for a level playing field for all races and backgrounds.
As for Saturday's 3rd annual Civil Rights Game, it was packed.
"I think it's a beautiful thing. I'm happy that we're lucky enough to get this game here," said Reds fan Damon George.
"I think when we work together, we can begin to see that we are more alike than we are different. And that's the key to this whole thing. It is that we can to it because we were created to do it," said Reds fan Brenda K. White.
