  NAACP 99th Annual Convention - Cincinnati, Ohio   July 2008

Cincinnati is honored to host the National NAACP's 99th Annual Convention.

This year's theme is "Power, Justice, Freedom, Vote."

More than 8,000 NAACP members, delegates and visitors will gather at the Duke Energy Center for the convention which runs from Saturday, July 12 through Thursday, July 17.

Among the guest speakers to appear at the convention this election year will be the presumptive nominees for president, Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is one of the nation's oldest civil rights organizations.

The NAACP will celebrate it's centennial on February 12, 2009.
