Sunday will mark one year since Michel Veillette allegedly killed his family in his Mason home.
The house on Brackenview Court house will go up for sale at the sheriff's auction at the end of January.
Investigators said Veillette stabbed his wife and set a fire that killed his four children because he wanted to start a new life with a girlfriend in Canada.
Veillette killed himself in his Warren County jail cell before his trial.
Prosecutor Rachel Hutzel said, "Throughout all his jail communications, he never accepted responsibility for what he did. He continues to blame it on his wife and other people and spent a lot of time feeling really sorry for himself."
Mason Police Detective Jerry Deidesheimer said, "It's really hard to understand his mindset. It's certainly way out of normal. It's something you never see. A mid-life crisis is certainly not an excuse, but there's really no better term for it. "
Detectives said Veillette made about $250,000 a year, but he was having money problems because he was spending so much money with his girlfriend in Canada.
He hadn't made a payment on his house for four months before the murders.
Detectives also say Veillette lost $100,000 gambling over the two years before the murders.
