Tri-State Residents are gearing up to help the victims of Hurricane Gustav.
Volunteers began gathering at the Cincinnati Red Cross in Blue Ash Monday to prepare to help those in need.
The Red Cross is ready and willing to help, but it needs trained volunteers to go down to the effected region.
Officials say they need roughly 3,000 or more volunteers to head down to the Gulf Coast and get to work helping out the region that is now under assault by Gustav.
Starting at 12:30 p.m. Monday, the Red Cross began teaching a class to train volunteers to help out at mass care and shelter operations.
For those interested in helping out, there are some requirements. Volunteers must be at least 18-years-old, have a valid driver's license and email address, pass a background check and be willing to stay for two weeks. All qualified volunteers must complete the training class and be ready to leave within two day.
The training classes run from 12:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Cincinnati Red Cross Blue Ash location at 10870 Kenwood Road.
For a recorded message about times and dates of training classes, you can call (513)579-3017 or go to www.cincinnatiredcross.org for information.
