Mason-based Downlite is spreading some warmth this holiday season.

On Tuesday morning, the company donated 200 down comforters and more than 400 pillows to the Warren County United Way.

The United Way has distributed the comforters and pillows among four county agencies; The Interfaith Hospitality Network, Abuse and Rape Crisis Shelter, Warren County Community Services and Bernie's Place which is a homeless shelter.

United Way leaders say the four agencies are aware of the people in the community who have the greatest need for the items.

After looking at the dozens of boxes of comforters, "It's like Santa Claus...like manna from Heaven." said Janet Hoffman, the director of the county abuse and rape crisis shelter.

Hoffman says her shelter does not have the money to make a purchase like this.
