Extreme Makeover: Home Edition designer Paige Hemmis brings happiness to a new family each week, but there was a time she struggled to find happiness in her own life.
"It was difficult for me to put on a happy face, to go out there and smile all day long. Because at night I was coming home and I was exhausted, I was so sad. When the doctor went through all of the symptoms with me and said I was suffering from depression at first I said, me, No way! I'm smiley!," said Hemmis.
Paige is hoping to raise awareness about depression and is working with a national campaign, Blue Print for Hope, to help encourage people to talk to their doctor if they think they may have a problem.
"The Blue Print For Hope
Web site has lots of tools and information to help people understand what this condition is, begin to help you track it and see if you're making progress," explained Dr, Jesse Wright.
