DAYTON, Ohio -- ABC's hit show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is coming to the Dayton, Ohio, area to remake a lucky family's home.
Ty Pennington, team leader of the show, and his design team will notify the selected family by showing up at their Dayton-area home Thursday, July 30. There are currently five families in the running to receive the home.
Although the family is unknown, the community and volunteers are rallying together to support the cause.
Friday morning, volunteers met at Far Hills Community Church in Dayton for a pep rally. Between 1,500 and 2,000 volunteers with donated building materials will demolish the existing house and replace it with a brand new one in about 106 hours.

“It was an honor to have been called by Extreme Makeover to lead the building process and participate in the show,” said Rob Arnold, President of Coventry Fine Homes and Prudential One Realtors in a news release from the company.
