On August 23, assistant principal Brenda Nesselroad-Slaby drove to Glen Este Middle School for a day of work, forgetting that her two-year-old daughter Cecilia was inside the family SUV. Temperatures on that August Thursday reached nearly 100-degrees outside, with temperatures inside the car undoubtedly higher.
The death of two-year-old Cecilia sparked controversy locally and across the country, as Clermont County Prosecutor Don White chose not to charge Slaby in connection with her daughter's death; the incident was ruled an accident. The subject continues to be debated around the Tri-State.
