Liz Carroll
Foster mother to 3-year old Marcus Fiesel, Carroll told police on August 15th, 2006 that Marcus was missing from Juilf's Park in Anderson Township.
A multi-day search involving dozens of volunteers and search and rescue crews took place. Prosecutors say Carroll and her husband, David Carroll bound and locked Marcus in a closet while they went out of town for a weekend. Court records reflect that Liz Carroll confessed in Grand Jury testimony to the crime. Liz Carroll now faces charges for Marcus' death. She also faces lesser charges in Hamilton County.
David Carroll

Prosecutors say when Marcus was found dead, David Carroll took his body to an abandoned outdoor fire chimney where he repeatedly tried to burn Marcus' body.
David Carroll will stand trial for murdering Marcus in March. He also faces lesser charges in Hamilton County.
Marcus Fiesel
Three-year old foster child. His birth mother, Donna Trevino, relinquished custody of Marcus in Butler County.
Prosecutors say he was bound and locked in his foster parents, David and Liz Carroll's home and left for a weekend. Prosecutors believe the Carrolls found him dead and David Carroll repeatedly burned his body to destroy evidence.
Amy Baker
The former live-in girlfriend to both David and Liz Carroll. Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters says Baker told them where to find Marcus' remains and that
David and Liz left Marcus bound and locked in a closet over the weekend to die. She is one of the prosecution's main witnesses. Prosecutors have told her if she did not hurt Marcus Fiesel and told the truth, she would not be prosecuted.

Judge Robert P. Ringland
Once an Clermont County Assistant Prosecutor, Judge Ringland is currently a Common Pleas Judge in Clermont County. He has served in this position since 1983. He will be presiding over the Liz Carroll trial.
Gregory Cohen
Defense attorney for Liz Carroll. Cohen specializes in criminal defense work. Cohen has tried more than 100 criminal and civil jury trials.
He requested that Liz Carroll's trial be moved out of Greater Cincinnati because of heavy media coverage of the case. Judge Robert Ringland denied that request. He has also informed the Hamilton County Democratic Chairman that he is willing to be a candidate for Municipal Judge in 2007.
