Cpl. Richard Gilbert Jr. of Montgomery, Ohio has died while serving his country in Operation: Iraqi Freedom.
Gilbert died Jan. 26, 2005 when the CH-53E helicopter he was in crashed near Ar Rutbah, Iraq.
The 26-year-old Gilbert was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base in Hawaii.
