Toyota Helps Philanthropy SOAR

"See Jane Give" Program to Fund Dress for Success!

On March 14, Erlanger-based Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA) launched an innovative philanthropy program to boost charitable giving in the Greater Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky community. "Toyota has partnered with WCPO and SOAR, a professional development program for high potential young women, to develop See Jane Give," said Helen Carroll, Manager of Community Relations for TEMA. The program encourages graduates of SOAR (www.seejanesoar.com) to leverage seed money from Toyota into larger contributions for area non-profit organizations. Organizers credit the popular television show "Oprah's Big Give" as the inspiration for See Jane Give.

Toyota gave a $400 cash award to each of 16 graduates from the first local SOAR class and challenged them to grow their "community capital" into larger contributions before "paying it forward."  The three organizations also worked with the Greater Cincinnati Foundation to establish the See Jane Give Fund, which is now open to receive online donations at www.greatercincinnatifdn.org.

See Jane Give has selected Dress for Success (www.dfscincy.org) as the recipient of its first annual award. (Donations can only be used to support established 501c3 organizations.) See Jane Give is now organizing a six-week community fund-raising campaign to grow their seed money into a significant donation. Funds raised will be presented to Dress for Success on April 30 at the organization's "Beyond the Suit" breakfast at the Cintas Center.
