Pretty soon some neighborhoods in the City of Cincinnati will be getting a facelift.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) presented an $8.3 million check to city leaders Wednesday.
The funds will help restore 10 neighborhoods.
Buildings will be torn down, foreclosed properties will be purchased and other buildings will be completely made over.
“The Neighborhood Stabilization Program is one part of the federal government strategy for addressing foreclosure situation,” said Jim Cunningham, HUD director. “We are making homes more affordable, helping people staying their homes.”
Officials say tackling the city's foreclosures is their main focus this year.
