A Tri-State convention center is expanding, and local tax payers will not foot the bill.
The expansion of the Sharonville Convention Center is being funded by a special tax on hotel rooms that is paid by out-of-town visitors.
Officials say the same tax was used to expand the Duke Energy Center Downtown.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the Sharonville expansion takes place Friday at 11 a.m. The center is located in the 11,000 block of Chester Road (see man below).
Sharonville officials are calling this a win-win situation for both Hamilton County taxpayers, as well as the convention center.
Officials hope the project will attract more convention business and more tourists to Sharonville, which happens to be home to CoCo Key water resort.
There's no word on the timeline for the project.
