On Tuesday, people will have the chance to buy a part of local history.

Nine former Cincinnati Public School buildings will be auctioned off in Corryville.

The Bloom, Bramble, Heberle, Linwood, McKinley, Roosevelt, Swifton and Windsor buildings are for sale.

"The Ohio School Facilities Commission determined that these buildings no longer were suitable for use as district schools," interim chief operations officer Terry Elfers explained, "By placing these buildings into the private sector, we hope to ensure the economic opportunities for the surrounding neighborhoods and to alleviate our cost to maintain unoccupied facilities."

Most of the buildings are architectural masterpieces which have been replaced by newer facilities.

The auction ran from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.

Three buildings sold, six bids are under review.
