LEWIS CENTER, Ohio (AP) -- Investigators are examining surveillance video from nearby businesses as they try to find the mother of a newborn left beside an Ohio road.
A passer-by who made an emotional 911 call Tuesday said she noticed the naked infant in the grass while driving by a discount store near the Columbus suburb of Powell.
Delaware County Sheriff Walter Davis said the baby boy was left in a place where someone was likely to find him. The umbilical cord was still attached.
The newborn was hospitalized in good condition Wednesday. The sheriff's office said detectives were following up leads and hoping for tips.

Ohio's Safe Haven law, allowing a parent to drop off a newborn with a hospital or police without threat of prosecution.
