Anyone else get the feeling that knotquitehear is just a talentless whiner without a single hint of creativity? I'd LOVE to see you do anything remotely approaching this creative. Oh, and I looked up "unique" as well and guess what, YOU'RE A TWIT. Unique: highly unusual or rare but not the single instance; ; Of a feature, such that only one holder has it; Of a rare quality; Unusual; extraordinary; not typical. This pair of outfits are unique, unless of course the girl you mentioned made an IDENTICAL dress and suit, including the peacock design. Amazingly, out of all the entries in the CONTEST I didn't see any pair of outfits that were identical. I'd say that makes them all UNIQUE. Even using your definition, "being only one of its kind or without equal or equivalent, without equal or like", these outfits still qualify as they each have a UNIQUE and INDIVIDUAL design. Maybe you ought to do a little bit more reading in your dictionary instead of bashing on a bunch of kids for using their talent and creativity to do something the might just help them get an actual education. What was it your MTV icon did it for? Oh, that's right, she wanted to be prom queen. Wow, what a lofty goal. In the future, why don't you just watch more MTV and leave the people who actually have a life alone?

knotquitehear, you are an idiot. Please never comment on here again. This scholarship has been around for quite sometime. Yes the material they used for the attire has been used before. But find me a picture of this dress or suit/tux made by someone else out of duck tape. Bet you wont find it, therefore it is still unique, because it is a one of a kind dress and a one of a kind suit/tux.

You know this gave these kids something to do...and have some fun at as well. They all looked good - too bad they all can't get scholarships!

Sorry, I didn't read the story, I watched the video. The newscaster said they "went a little unique....they made it out of duct tape". The definition of unique is "being only one of its kind or without equal or equivalent, without equal or like". I took that as if the duct tape outfit had never been done before. Wow, what a terrific unique outfit, I've never seen anything done like that before, except that is a lie" lol.

realitycheck i did read the story and i'm sorry i didn't make my self clear. I read someone else comment and they were speaking of not being creative and not being there original idea. And all i said was they never said it was there idea to start with.

knotquiethere and sparkeysmom....please read the entire story if you're going to comment. NOBODY said the duct tape dress was their idea. We were only commenting on their creativity and design. It says right in the story "Now the friends are hoping to win a college scholarship by entering the outfits in the "Stuck at Prom" contest sponsored by the Duck Brand Tape Company. They are among 10 finalists vying for the $9,000 scholarship. Click here to see the finalists and vote for your favorite design. Voting ends Thursday.
