Two Colorado teens hope their creative approach to formal wear design helps them pay for college.
Izzy Bristow and John Dyer say they worked nine hours a day for a month to create their matching prom attire from duct tape.
They designed and created an intricate peacock dress and matching suit using about 35 rolls of the all-purpose adhesive, much to the surprise of their classmates.
"It was kinda fun because not very many people believed it until they touched it," explains Bristow.
Now the friends are hoping to win a college scholarship by entering the outfits in the "Stuck at Prom" contest sponsored by the Duck Brand Tape Company.
They are among 10 finalists vying for the $9,000 scholarship.
