Lockland Officer Now Recovering At Drake Center

Lockland Police Officer Brandon Gehring is continuing his recovery at Drake Center.

Officer Gehring was transferred from University Hospital to the facility in Hartwell Tuesday evening.

He was seriously injured April 20 when he was struck by a West Chester police cruiser driven by Officer Kevin Burger.

At the time, Officer Gehring was placing stop sticks down to try and stop the vehicle of Thomas Joyce on I-75.

Police say Joyce held up a Walgreen's in West Chester before he led authorities on a pursuit down the interstate.

He remains behind bars on a high bond.
