Americans love convenience. We're used to finding whatever we want, wherever and whenever we want it. So it isn't really surprising that there is a store in Newtown that wants to simplify our lives even more.
"They can't believe that we have a dog wash," explains Shell station employee Jim Creech.
That's right! Newtown's shell station has the areas first and only self-serve dog wash.
"People remark like, what do you do? Hook them up to a wagon and drive them through or something like a car wash or something. You explain to them what it is and they just shake their heads."
Rod Mamula, of Pleasant Ridge, say it's easy to do. "It's just like you do at a car wash. You have a rinse cycle that you put it on first. Then you just turn the dial and you got shampoo coming out with the water."
It's not only easy on you and your dog but your wallet, too.
Rocky Reising, Wags Park manager, says, "Instead of paying twenty bucks for shampoo on your own, filling up your tub at home and making a mess, especially when weather is like this when you don't want to do it outside. It's just real quick and easy to do here at the Wag-O-Mat."
Customers agree and the Wag-O-Mat says, "It's just one more thing we can add onto the Shell station here to make people's lives a lot easier."
